what to know before we start

PRE-PLANNING WITH CROWN CONCRETE

To ensure we deliver the best results for your project, please review these considerations. The more we know about your property, the better we can work together to minimize potential damage!

Site Access Preparation:

  • Ensure the working area is free and clear of debris, valuables, plants, limbs, furniture, etc

Unscheduled Visits:

  • Be aware that Crown Concrete may need to make unscheduled visits to the site during the project.

Sprinkler Heads and Lines:

  • Crown Concrete is not liable for unmarked sprinkler heads and lines. Irrigation repair starts at $25.00 per broken line or head.

Equipment Traffic:

  • Concrete installation requires equipment to transport materials to and from the site. This traffic can cause damage unless plywood protection is elected. Plywood protection reduces, but does not eliminate, landscape damage.

Landscape Repair:

  • A landscaper may be needed to repair the surrounding landscape (including adjacent lawn and path of travel) upon project completion. This is not the liability of Crown Concrete and should be noted as an additional expense on the estimate.

Handyman Consultation:

  • Plan to consult with a handyman to ensure brick or siding material can be repaired or adjusted when the project is complete.

Private Utilities:

  • Unmarked private utilities such as sump lines, cisterns, septic tanks, auxiliary electric lines, and invisible dog wires are subject to damage during excavation and construction.

Cable and TV Lines:

  • Cable and TV lines are often shallow or embedded in old concrete. Be prepared for potential outages.

Pet Boarding:

  • It is suggested to board outdoor pets during the project due to potential openings in fences, scheduling conflicts, and wet concrete that can be damaged by footprints.

Parking and Access:

  • Crown Concrete will need ample parking and full access to the working area, sometimes at inconvenient times.

Access Over Finished Surfaces:

  • If access to the project site involves crossing finished pavement, asphalt, or concrete, scratching or scuffing may occur, along with tire tracks. Otherwise, dirt surfaces may appear.

Elevation Changes:

  • The elevation of new concrete may change due to drainage needs. Unless a scaled architectural drawing is provided, this may be at the discretion of the on-site foreman.

Colored Concrete:

  • Colored concrete takes 30+ days to cure to its final color. Expect some color variance on projects requiring more than one load of concrete.

Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth and successful project. Your cooperation is key to achieving the best results! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
